Bridal Veil Falls (Orem, UT)

This weekend we stumbled upon a roadside waterfall. It turned out to be a really cool hike near the Uinta Mountains. Here are some photos we were able to take!

Here's the basic landscape in this area of the Uintas.

Sundance Resort is not far from here.

A creek ran just below the waterfall (it was not fed by the waterfall, though). We guessed that the water runoff came from the melting snow.

Kate looks on in awe!

This is a picture of the parking lot on the side of the highway, where you can park to take pictures or else walk down the trail. Yes, we are the only care in the lot. Why? Because the locals know that there are closer parking lots! Oh well - we got a nice hike in.

Here are some shots of the Bridal Veil Waterfall from a few different angles.

We hiked up and stood underneath it!

Looking out from beneath the waterfall.

A kayaker.

As we got further down the trail, we noticed there were a series of waterfalls....

Check out how the rock has been carved into an S shape on the right side of this mountain. They look like snakes!

As we drove home, we saw these formations - we thought they were pretty interesting.

A last look back at the Uintas as we drove home....
